Hytale was created in December of 2018, by Simon the owner of Hypixel Studios and the Hypixel Server on Minecraft. Hytale became a viral success online with the trailer for the game gaining 31 million views in just a month. Over the next couple of years, Hytale would be acquired by Riot Games, and the game would be under a new team of developers. Due to several setbacks with a new Game engine and spending getting out of control, Hytale was cancelled in June of 2025 by Riot Games. It wasn't the end for the game as Simon the original Owner and Founder of the game would purchase the rights back from riot and continue to develop the game.
